Federal Standard for Textile Test Methods

This method is intended for determining the resistance of cloth to crocking. Crocking in this case refers to the transfer matter from one cloth to another cloth with which it may come in woven or knitted of coloring contact. This method is applicable to cloth of all fibers whether dyed, printed, impregnated, or otherwise colored. The method is particularly applicable to cloth of solid color, although variegated cloth may be tested if the colored area is of sufficient size.
